We normally expect linear perspective, but non-linear perspective is also a possibility. One kind of non-linear perspective may be based upon multiple vanishing points. Another kind of non-linear perspective may use curves rather than straight lines. Non-linear perspective distorts vision, and light bent in the shape of cylinders or cones is also non-linear and is usually referred to as an anamorphism.
